Port Authority of Allegheny County

CONTRACT VALUE
$25 Million

Description

This project involved the construction of a seven-level, 2,200-space open parking structure. The scope of work included site improvements, the creation of a passenger drop-off area, and the development of a covered pedestrian walkway. Additionally, renovations were made to an existing light rail station, which included modifications to canopies and the replacement of stairs and ramps leading to the platforms.

The parking garage was built on 202 caissons and supported at one end by an 18-pile soldier pile wall. The superstructure of the garage consists of precast concrete, with cast-in-place topping slabs over precast double-tee decking, ensuring durability and structural integrity.
